Purpose of Meeting
Purpose: To facilitate unity and connection between survivors of homicide victims in the Boston and Springfield area. Raise awareness around current state legislation regarding the rights of survivors, and engage the Greater Springfield area in organizing around these bills. The goal of this event is to foster a dialogue about the impact that unsolved homicides have on families, empower survivors with advocacy tools, and engage councilmen and legislators with the community. We hope to uplift the work ambassadors and survivors are already doing to bring justice for their loved ones while creating a space that feels warm and authentic for them to connect with their state representatives. We want to see the community come out, know that the bill is here and people are fighting for change surrounding unsolved homicides. This event will posit advocacy as an additional avenue for healing.
