Event Details
Come celebrate Black History Month with this mini-quilting workshop! Particiapnts will learn basic quilting skills by making a one block quilted pot holder, as well as discuss the tradition of quilting in the Black Community, explore quilting as a story-telling art form, and look at proiminant African American quilts throughout history up until today.
This program is open to interested teens (13 years or older) & adults, with all materials provided. Participants are welcome to bring fabric from home to quilt with, if they would like.
Registration is optional, but encouraged in order to help plan materials!
Please arrive as close to 5:00pm as you are able, you will need the entire two & a half hours to complete this project!
