Purpose of Meeting
SCORE Western Massachusetts, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, invites you to attend a free workshop open to the public titled ""Preparing for the Future While Expanding Your Business". This workshop is designed to help small business owners and entrepreneurs strategically plan for long-term success while identifying opportunities for growth.
The session will cover how to proactively plan for leadership and ownership transitions, including retirement, sale, or unforeseen circumstances, to ensure a smooth transfer of knowledge, responsibility, and business value. It will also explore how to develop business continuity strategies that safeguard operations against disruptions like natural disasters, economic downturns, or gaps in leadership.
Participants will learn practical steps to build a resilient business through risk management, operational flexibility, and sustainable decision-making. The workshop will provide tools and approaches to help identify new customer segments, diversify offerings, and grow revenue by reaching underserved or untapped markets.
In addition, the session will offer guidance on expanding operations beyond Massachusetts, including interstate and international growth, with insights into logistics, compliance, partnerships, and adapting to regional regulations. Finally, it will cover what it takes to successfully export your products globally, with information on international marketing, distribution channels, export financing, and government resources that support small business exports.
