Purpose of Meeting
We will be conducting Free Soil Lead Screenings for anyone who brings a dry soil sample from 4-6inches. I can share translated flyers with you if you don't mind printing and posting some up. In the afternoon, there will be a Microscopy workshop: From Microscopes to metals: Integrating light microscopy and pXRF for soil analysis lead by Ruben Parilla (NOFA/Mass) In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the microscopic world of soil life and structure while learning to quantify heavy metal contamination, specifically lead (Pb) using the pXRF technology. This integrated approach provides critical insights for assessing soil quality, informing remediation efforts, and ensuring safer growing environments. This workshop is ideal for researchers, practitioners, and anyone interested in advancing their soil analysis toolkit.
