Enjoy reading in a quiet, comfortable environment with this silent book club for kids. Each month, we'll get cozy at the library for half an hour of solo reading, plus time at the end to chat and enjoy some snacks.

Jump into a summer of games, puzzles and tons of awesome summer reading. Stop by our kickoff for snacks, lawn games, sidewalk chalk and more! Check out our fun play activities created with recycled puzzle pieces plus our many family board games.

Drop-in for our weekly studio session. From sewing a button or hemming pants, to following a pattern to construct a garment using a sewing machine, our sewing volunteer can help you get started!

Come on into the Brightwood Branch every month to get your game on with our Nintendo Switch! We will be playing a variety of Switch games including but not limited to: Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros & more! 

Join us at three different locations around Forest Park for light nature walks and birding. Bill Randolph, Naturalist, will lead us in exploring three different park locations: Camp Star Angelina, The Duck Pond, and the Aquatic Gardens.

Level-up your summer gaming experience at Springfield City Library with the largest mobile arcade in New England: Arcade on the Go! Enjoy arcade games in a climate-controlled environment without going further than your local library.

Journaling can be a great way to get all your thoughts, good and bad, out of your head. Learn how to make your own journal, and use it to clear your mind and get out all your thoughts. Learn why journaling is such a great tool for mental health.

The Mobile Farmers Market is back.  The colorful truck will be making a weekly stop on Wednesdays.  The Farmers Market truck brings affordable, fresh fruits and vegetables to local neighborhoods.

Show off your skills and battle to be the ultimate Smash Brothers champion of Forest Park!

This adventurous mini slime devours all things that sparkle and shine. Level up your slime at our upgrade station to make it smooth or fluffy. Due to small parts, this activity is for ages 5+. DO NOT EAT. Handwashing suggested after use. 

Come Switch it up at the library and play your choice of games.

We will play Mario Kart, Mario Party, Super Smash Bros Ultimate and other games on our brand new Switch. Bring your own controllers for 2+ multiplayer games.
