Have you always wanted to draw pictures with pencils, but weren't sure where to start? Join us for one or more sessions to learn basic skills with lines, curves, and tools. No art experience required. 

The Central Library is proud to present the Musical Petting Zoo with Springfield Symphony Orchestra! This is a fun and informative hands-on traveling exhibit of musical instruments.

Welcome to Code Builders 2.0 - our all ages, drop-in club where you can explore robotics, coding languages (like Scratch and Python), and even 3D design & printing!

This club is open to aspiring coders of all ages.

Join us for our day-time, Open Studio session! You can bring a project to work on, or an idea to bounce off of other makers.

Are you up to the LEGO Challenge? Join other LEGO Questers in building our Challenge of the month, or build your own. Tuesdays, 3-5 pm. Indian Orchard branch. For ages 5 and up. 

Sean Gaskell will present an educational performance on the kora, a 21-stringed West African harp. Many songs featured on the kora preserve an 800 year history dating back to the founding of the Mande empire.

Creative writing club for teens who love to write or want to try it out. Share your original poems, short stories, novels, and more; receive feedback on your work; and do fun writing activities!

Come visit the Mason Square Branch Library for some crafting! Every 1st Wednesday we'll make a different craft to take home! Some examples are painting, candle making and slime! For t(w)eens, ages 10-14. From 3-4:30PM.

Come join our Gardening Club at The East Springfield Branch to learn various skills and maintenance for your outdoor and indoor plants year round! Join your neighbors in this casual, friendly group for beginners and experienced folks alike!

Come and browse from a sample of English and Spanish titles waiting for you to check and read. We'll highlight Latino authors as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

Nothing to do before the weekend? Don't want to spend your summer gaming alone? Visit the Forest Park Library and play board game or pick up a Nintendo Switch Joycon and join a Smash tournament. We'll be gaming every Friday this summer!

On Fridays we will play Mario Kart, Mario Party and Super Smash Bros Ultimate, on our brand new Switch. Bring your own controllers for 2+ multiplayer games. 3-5pm.

Family friendly chess club for kids to come learn and sharpen their skills in a supportive environment.

How much Jello can you eat with chopsticks in one minute? How fast can you assemble a Mr. Potato Head blindfolded? If you have what it takes to break the world record come to the library on October 2 to try your luck. For teens 12 and up.

Join Meg as we do a different craft every week on Wednesday afternoons. Tissue Paper Painting, Watercolor painting, finger painting, and floral book marks are some of the crafts we will be exploring.

SANE, or Support and Accountability in Novel Editing, is a year-round extension group of the NaNoWriMo region of Western Massachusetts.

Meet award-winning author Esmeralda Santiago in conversation with Community Leader and Library Volunteer Haydee Lamberty Rodriguez. Santiago's books include When I Was Puerto Rican, Almost a Woman, and her latest Las Madres.

A representative of the Attorney General's office will present on Buying Used Cars and MA Lemon Laws. 

Do you love Scrabble? Meet other fans of the popular board game and strike up a game! Staff will be available to teach new players as well. All ages and skill levels welcome.
